Estate Planning with Heart and Intention

About the Firm

The Guerre Group was born from a desire to redefine what legal care and traditional estate planning looks like: not as cold, transactional paperwork, but as personal and ongoing counseling.

It is no secret that the purpose of estate planning is to “get all of your ducks in a row” in the event of your death or the death of a loved one. That can feel daunting and uncomfortable. At The Guerre Group, we prioritize care and assurance through the uncomfortable conversations. We recognize estate planning as a gift to yourself and to your family for generations to come. We provide planning that is curated to fit your unique needs and protect what matters most.

We offer a non-traditional approach to our practice. After years of practice as a litigator, founding attorney Elizabeth understands how billable hours discourage attorney-client connection. Instead, we help our clients choose the flat fee that works best for their goals and objectives at their very first meeting.

Throwing out hourly billing is only part of the way we encourage getting the most out of the attorney-client relationship. Over time, your assets and family dynamics change, and the laws change. We provide complimentary plan reviews every three years to ensure your plan actually works when you need it. We also offer membership programs to our clients, which allows them to update their plans annually at a discounted rate.

While locally based in Knoxville, Tennessee, we serve families throughout Tennessee and Texas.

About the Founding Attorney

Elizabeth C. Guerre, Esq.

Elizabeth grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, attending the University of Tennessee for her undergraduate degree. She then received her Juris Doctorate from LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Following law school, she became a member of the Texas State Bar, and practiced law in Houston, Texas.

After years of litigating in Texas, Elizabeth and her husband, Joseph, moved back to her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. Family was at the forefront of that decision - to be closer to the people she loved most. After many rewarding and invaluable years in litigation, a high-conflict field of law, Elizabeth wanted to transform her law practice into something that did the quite opposite of what she was so familiar with. She aimed to keep people in her community out of the courthouse and out of conflict.

When deciding to open her own estate planning practice, Elizabeth became more familiar with the personal stories of family and friends who had negative experiences with planning in the past. She learned just how wrong things can go without proper planning. She also understood how many misconceptions there were about who needs an estate plan. Estate planning is not just for those with substantial assets or numerous grandchildren. Proper planning is a gift to our families, no matter how big or small.
